Taller Gorria Gallery Celebrates a Decade of Artistic Innovation
Havana’s vibrant San Isidro neighborhood is buzzing with celebration as Taller Gorria Gallery marks its tenth anniversary with a landmark group exhibition.
The gallery, a sociocultural project born in the heart of Old Havana, was conceived by acclaimed Cuban actor and filmmaker Jorge Perugorría – the 2023 National Film Prize recipient – who has now expanded his creative endeavors into the visual arts.
Titled Asamblea X Aniversario, the exhibition showcases works by artists who have previously held solo shows at the gallery throughout its decade-long history. Notable contributors include Roberto Fabelo, the 2004 National Plastic Arts Prize winner, alongside Eduardo Abela, Levi Otra, May Reguera, and Perugorría himself.
The opening drew a large crowd of prominent figures in Cuban culture, underscoring Taller Gorria’s vital role in the city’s artistic landscape.
Established in December 2015, the gallery has quickly become a key hub for promoting art and fostering community engagement within one of Havana’s most dynamic districts.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until March 2026.
