The Artis 718 Gallery presents a solo exhibition by the young artist Amalia Abreu

Under the title Hálitos, the Havana gallery Artis 718 will inaugurate this Friday, 16 August, at 6:00 pm, a solo exhibition of the young artist Amalia Abreu.

Hálitos is a visual journey that explores Amalia’s deep connection with her natural environment, specifically the rural community of El Corojo, in San Luis, in the province of Pinar del Río, according to a press release from the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets.

Through photography and video, the artist documents in a humanistic way the daily life and work of the inhabitants of this region, where tobacco is the central theme. Her work reflects her memory and childhood, capturing reality without alteration.

The exhibition also includes paintings that celebrate the beauty of the landscapes and the land that produces this precious plant, offering a reflective view of tobacco culture and the life that develops around it.

Amalia Abreu, a 2019 graduate of the San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts, presents Hálitos as the culmination of her studies at the University of the Arts of Cuba.
