The Universe of Jarol Rodríguez from his Mysterious Gardens

With Summer Mode in Cuba, new proposals emerge, such as the solo exhibition by the young artist Jarol Rodríguez, titled Jardines Misteriosos, at the Galiano Gallery in the capital.

This Friday, August 2, at 5:00 p.m., the exhibition will open, offering an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the universe of Jarol Rodríguez Morales (Las Tunas, 1990). He was featured in the XIX Post-it Contemporary Cuban Art Competition in 2022 with his piece Nomenclatura, from the series El oficio de permanecer con vida. The Post-It platform for emerging artists had previously recognized him in its 2020 edition.

In this selection, Jarol presents his most recent works, a set of pieces that explore nature through his own imagination. Jarol’s gardens are not mere landscapes; they are born from his personal sensations and similarities, inviting the viewer on a unique sensory journey, as highlighted by the press release from the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets.

Dissolved flowers in glazes, fleshy fruits in vibrant tones, and solid branches in drawings merge into a visual proposal that will vary in perception for each viewer.

A graduate of the Provincial School of Visual Arts in Las Tunas in 2009, Jarol works independently. In 2023, he participated in eight group exhibitions held in various provinces and had one solo exhibition, according to an article on the Hermanos Saiz Association website.
