Varadero Josone returns this August

The fifth edition of Varadero Josone: Rumba, Jazz & Son, under the direction of renowned performer and composer Issac Delgado, will return to the cities of Matanzas and Varadero from August 18 to 25 under the theme «¡Déjalo que suene!

This year’s festival is expected to be one of the most important cultural events in Cuba. The festivities will kick off on August 18, 19 and 20 with a series of concerts at El Tenis Beach in Matanzas that will increase public access to this great musical celebration and offer free admission.

At the same time, as a prelude to the final nights, Adriano DJ will be hosting events throughout the week at Parque Josone, the festival’s official venue, setting the stage for the four most anticipated nights of the event.

From August 22nd to 25th, Parque Josone in Varadero will become the epicenter of music with a diverse lineup of local and international artists and prestigious bands. Among the confirmed headliners for Varadero Josone 2024 are Issac Delgado and his orchestra, Formell y Los Van Van, Alain Pérez and his orchestra, Maykel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor, Síntesis, Wampi, Real Project and Raúl Paz.

Designed for discerning dancers, the festival will explore a variety of genres and contemporary musical expressions, curated and directed by Issac Delgado. This event is a tribute to the great festivals that took place in Varadero in the 1980s, and reinforces Varadero’s status as a major musical destination in the Caribbean.

Tickets for Parque Josone will be available beginning July 18 at the Casa de la Música de Miramar and Casa de la Música de Galeano in Havana, and later at the Casa de la Música de Varadero in Matanzas.

Sponsored by the Cuban Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tourism, with the support of the Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales (Egrem) and the Government of Matanzas, Varadero Josone 2024 is independently organized by the projects Música Punto Cero, OLA, La Rueda Producciones and the production company Four Wives.

Since its inception in 2018, the festival has successfully blended the rich cultural heritage of Cuba with the beauty of one of the Caribbean’s top tourist destinations: Varadero.
