Zaida del Río to Present Aliento at the National Museum of Fine Arts

Aliento is the title of the new solo exhibition by renowned Cuban artist Zaida del Río, which opens this Saturday, April 19, at 4:00 p.m. at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana. The exhibition will take place in the temporary gallery on the third floor of the Cuban Art Building.
Organized in recognition of her 2023 National Visual Arts Award, the show offers a journey through some of the key themes that have inspired Zaida since the early days of her career, following her graduation from the National School of Art in the 1970s. Rather than adhering to a strict chronological order, the exhibition invites viewers to explore the evolving universe of her artistic expression.
Featuring nearly sixty works, including sculptures, paintings, and drawings, Aliento showcases Zaida’s signature blend of nature, humanity, and spirituality, tracing the path of one of Cuba’s most prominent contemporary painters and illustrators.
This exhibition marks her third solo showcase at the National Museum of Fine Arts and will remain open to the public until June 29.
