Contemporary Music of Havana Showcased Across Multiple Venues

As part of the 38th edition of the International Contemporary Music Festival of Havana, an electroacoustic music program took place on Tuesday, October 8th, at the Manuel Galich Hall, Casa de las Américas.

The annual event, organized by the Musicians’ Association of the Cuban Union of Writers and Artists (UNEAC), will continue on October 12th at 6:00 p.m. in the Minor Basilica of the Convent of San Francisco de Asís. The performances will feature violinists Liliette Velázquez and Alexia González, lutenist Eduardo Corcho, flutist Leandro Larrea, pianists Rosario Franco and Gardenia Laborde, along with the Brillance Duo, Dulcián Trio, and the Música Eterna Chamber Orchestra under the direction of maestro Guido López-Gavilán.

The festival will conclude on Sunday, October 13th at 11:00 a.m. in the Cervantes Hall, located on calle Prado in Havana. The closing concert includes performances by soprano Milagros de los Ángeles, Swiss flutist Antipe da Stella, pianists Daniela Rivero, Daniela Rodríguez, and Yania Esther Massó, alongside the Ensemble Solistas de La Habana under the direction of maestro Iván Valiente, and the Z Saxos Quartet, led by maestro Javier Zalba.
