Catalogue Viaje a Italia. Paisaje y memorabilia to Be Presented

The National Museum of Fine Arts of Cuba has announced the upcoming presentation of the catalogue Viaje a Italia. Paisaje y memorabilia next Thursday, March 27, at 10:00 a.m. The event will take place in the Permanent Hall of Italian Art, housed within the Universal Art Building.

The catalogue documents two exhibitions curated in 2024 by Niurka Fanego Alfonso, curator of the Italian Art Collection, at the museum’s historic building, formerly the Asturian Center.

The publication revisits the exhibition of the same name, along with Ver Italia y vivir. Experiencias de «lo sublime» en el arte cubano contemporáneo. It represents a significant step toward the scientific cataloguing of the museum’s Italian collection.

The presentation will be led by Dr. Mei Ling Cabrera, professor at the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Havana. Also in attendance will be Mr. Roberto Vellano, Italian Ambassador to Cuba; Jorge Fernández Torres, Director of the Museum; the catalogue’s author; and the research team behind the project.
