The event will feature actress and oral storyteller Nubelia Leyva, who will present a text by Soleida Ríos.

The author of an extensive body of work, Soleida Ríos’s bibliography includes, among other titles, El libro roto, Libro cero, Escritos al revés, Estrías, and El libro de los sueños.

Among the distinctions she has received are the Razón de Ser Award, the Nicolás Guillén Poetry Award, and the Literary Criticism Award.

A 1979 graduate of the University of Oriente, where she earned a Higher Teaching Degree in History, Soleida Ríos (Santiago de Cuba, 1950) has organized and promoted a variety of cultural initiatives, including the Café Dulce and Café Bar Emiliana programs.

Her writings have appeared in anthologies and periodicals both in Cuba and abroad and have been translated into English, French, Italian, and Portuguese.

Book à la Carte is a monthly program sponsored by the Fayad Jamís Bookstore, Letras Cubanas Publishing House, and the Roberto Fernández Retamar Martí Club. Rodríguez Sosa created the program in 2000 at the Fayad Jamís Bookstore with the aim of fostering dialogue with Cuban writers, whose works contribute to the enrichment of contemporary Cuban literature.
