Activities ready to commemorate World Entrepreneurship Day

A new event is being promoted by the Plaza de la Revolución Cultural Department: La Isla del Emprendimiento (The Island of Entrepreneurship), which will take place on April 14, 15 and 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Pabellón Cuba in Havana’s Rampa.

Sponsored by the local development project Armonía, the event will include theoretical sessions, recreational and cultural activities, exhibitions, product sales and social actions aimed at vulnerable groups in the context of benefiting the community.

On April 14, in the pergola of the Pabellón Cuba, the initiative «Música es mujer» (Music is a Woman) will be officially presented, which aims to showcase the work of young women and leaders of Cuban music groups, their work and their prospects for establishing themselves in the current music scene. In the afternoon, several groups from this project will perform in concert.

On April 16, World Entrepreneurship Day will be celebrated with an Expo Fair, a date set by the United Nations to encourage the creation of new ideas, promote job creation and improve living standards.

This effort has taken on a new significance to address the effects of Covid-19, through new sources of employment and support for small and medium enterprises.

The promotion of entrepreneurship and ideas aimed at stimulating sustainable economic growth and women’s empowerment are also part of the celebrations on this day.
