Ballet Laura Alonso at Teatro América this weekend

Among the cultural offerings in the last week of June is the new season of Ballet Laura Alonso, running June 26, 27, and 28 at 5:00 p.m. on the stage of Havana’s Teatro de Variedades América.

The performances will feature a concert-style program under the overall direction of maestro Laura Alonso, with classical and contemporary works from the international repertoire, according to a post by the ProDanza Center on Facebook.

On Friday the 26th, the company will present Rosas Rojas, Muñecos, Sensemayá, Eclesiastés, El cisne blanco (pas de deux), Epitafio, Rita, Indiscreción, Bandoneón, Mutto, and La bayadera (grand pas).

On Saturday the 27th, the program will include Rosas Rojas, Obbatereo, Solo (choreography by Bob Fosse), Ne me quitte pas, and Carmen (pas de trois); as well as the Don Quixote pas de deux, Las nieblas de Avalon, El río y el bosque, Cisne Negro (pas de deux), and La bayadera (grand pas).

On Sunday the 28th, the lineup will feature Rosas Rojas, Rita, Muñecos, Obbatereo, La muerte del cisne, Cisne Negro (pas de deux), Indiscreción, Bandoneón, Las nieblas de Avalon (solo), and La bayadera (grand pas).

Tickets for the new Ballet Laura Alonso season will be available at the Teatro América box office, on Galiano Street between Neptuno and Concordia, Centro Habana, starting Thursday, June 25, at 10:00 a.m.
