Belkis Ayón Gallery hosts an exhibition of Cuban abstract art

The Belkis Ayón Gallery will open its doors on 3 June for the exhibition Aferrado a los clásicos, dedicated to Cuban masters of abstract art.

The exhibition precedes the 2nd Díaz Peláez Hall of Abstract Art, which will be inaugurated in the same gallery on July 8, and is dedicated to the most important Cuban figures in this art form.

Fifteen works will be on display by artists such as Julio Girona, Fayad Jamis, Antonio Vidal, Guido Llinás, Lolo Soldevilla and Carlos Trillo, among others.

According to Abenamar Bauta Delgado, senior specialist at Belkis Ayón Gallery, visitors to the event will be able to appreciate the mastery of these experienced artists and their ability to create visually impressive and attractive works, displaying a diversity of works, styles, trends and perspectives.

«The exhibition is a testament to the enduring power of abstract art and the ability of these Cuban artists to create works that are both timeless and contemporary,» said Abenamar.

The specialist also pointed out the importance of the works, describing them as a celebration of Cuba’s cultural and pictorial heritage and a testament to the creativity and ingenuity of the Caribbean nation’s artists.
