Flamenco Passion by the Spanish Ballet of Cuba at the National Theater

With their authentic Caribbean flair, the Spanish Ballet of Cuba, led by Maestro Eduardo Veitía, will grace the stage of the Avellaneda Hall at the National Theater of Cuba.
A series of performances will take place under the captivating title Flamenco Passion on Friday, August 4th and Saturday, August 5th at 7:00 p.m., as well as Sunday, August 6th at 5:00 p.m. These performances will showcase the essence of cultures that emerged from various parts of the world, bringing together movement, rhythm, dance, and music that have evolved in different regions and now find rejuvenation in the vibrant Caribbean. This unique setting adds a new dimension and richness to these art forms. A series of some of the masterpieces from the Spanish Ballet of Cuba (BEC), ensuring that the audience experiences a diverse, vibrant, and genuine show this summer, featuring a wide range of dance styles.
It is clear that Maestro Veitía and the BEC (dancers, teachers, and rehearsers of different styles) have developed a unique theatrical language over time. This language draws from the rich cultural traditions of flamenco and other roots of our culture, while also incorporating elements of classical and contemporary styles. This tradition is far from dead; it represents a vibrant and powerful popular wisdom that remains relevant to the Hispanic essence of our times.
The emotional charge, depth of feelings, and expressive gestures make this scene a powerful demonstration of how dance can deeply touch human nature and the essence of a culture to express it.
Hispanic magic will fill this day with joy and passion as we celebrate the 36th anniversary of the company created by the renowned teacher Alicia Alonso. It’s a time to remember the essence of the group from its very beginnings.
Thus, they showcase the various styles that have influenced the Spanish Ballet of Cuba throughout its history. Emblematic pieces by unforgettable authors have made us feel the rhythm pulsating in our veins, embodying a genuine passion that has transcended borders and resonated deeply in our hearts, bringing authentic joy to our lives. Likewise, on Sunday, the 6th of July, at 10:30 a.m., the doors of the Plaza de la Revolución Coliseum will open to present the closing show of the Summer Course and Teaching Course. The Pinos Nuevos will perform, representing this esteemed society that celebrates our authentic cultural heritage.
