Great concert by Buena Fe to inaugurate La Isla de la Música
It is already confirmed: Buena Fe will inaugurate the central stage of La Isla de la Música, at 1ra y 38, Miramar, Playa, on Thursday, July 6th, with a great concert where the heart of Cuba will be present. It is an invitation and a gift at the same time.
The new project that arrives with the summer has also received the confirmation of the singer Nelson Valdés and the young pop-rock band D’ Cuba on the alternative music stage for the first night.
La Isla de la Música will be an inclusive, diverse space where the public can enjoy son, trova, song, alternative music, pop, rumba, jazz, popular dance music… in other words, a wide range of rhythms and sounds of the Cuban musical panorama.
To achieve this, many popular and talented exponents of different styles are joining in, among them Daya Aceituno and the Banda de Boyeros, Alex Duval, Adrián Berazain and Dj Alex Fiesta Max, who have become a kind of spokesman for La Isla… and are already multiplying the invitation on their social media.
Already on the agenda for La Isla de la Música are the greatest artists of popular dance music, such as Alexander Abreu and Havana D’ Primera, Haila María Mompié, Maykel Blanco and Salsa Mayor, as well as younger talents that are gaining a space, such as the group Ogbeshe and Oddara, the trombonist and composer Eduardo Sandoval, who moves between jazz and timba, the singer Diego Gutiérrez, the young Ernesto Blanco, that already essential voice of the Cuban songbook called Waldo Mendoza, and the virtuoso pianist and composer Alejandro Falcón.
More than 150 Cuban artists and groups are expected to perform on the project’s stages, and among the special guests will be foreign artists who will travel from Venezuela, Spain and the United States to enjoy La Isla de la Música.
From Thursday to Saturday, between 7:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., and on Sundays until 2:00 a.m., including a party, the doors of La Isla de la Música will be open to the public of Havana and to those who will visit the capital of all Cubans during the coming summer.
On Wednesdays, during the day, there will be workshops on the most distinctive genres of Cuban popular music and dance, as well as music appreciation classes for children and teenagers, while on Saturdays there will be children’s and community activities, all accompanied by a varied food offer, also focused on the artistic concept that defends each space.
La Isla de la Música is a joint effort of the local development projects Mambo Producciones and Complejo Recreativo Marcelo Salado, the company Mambo SRL, the Government of Havana, the Provincial Cultural Office, the Municipal Authorities of Government, Culture and the Communist Party of Cuba in Playa and the recording and music publishing company Egrem.
