José Martí’s Paternity and Legacy are the Basis of Adrián Berazaín’s New Album
Within the context of the celebrations for the 170th birth anniversary of Cuba’s National Hero, José Julián Martí Pérez, the work of Cuban singer-songwriter Adrián Berazaín becomes a special tribute.
In late December, Berazaín announced he would release a new album on digital platforms between February and March 2023 under the Bis Music record label.
«The album is entitled Julián, my first son who is now three months old. This production is based mainly on the new song and the music that I like, which is mainly rock and roll with many influences of all-time Cuban and international songwriting…,» he said in an interview published on January 9 on the CubaSí portal.
Recently, the artist announced on social media that the design of the album, which reflects him, José Martí, and their descendants, together with white roses, is ready.
Among the twelve tracks included in the record are A Camila, El friky, La desilusión, Libertad, El silencio, Río cruzado, Promesa, Muchacha bonita, and Nos comemos el mundo.
Singer-songwriters Beatriz Márquez, Jotabarrioz, and Jéssica Rodríguez collaborate on the songs that complete the list: Te quiero tanto, Te salgo a buscar, and Quedará.
Available on music distribution platforms since last year, La desilusión also has an accompanying video clip on YouTube, recently recorded at the current edition of the Lucas Awards.
This audiovisual work is dedicated to the intellectual Miguel Barnet, honorary president of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac in Spanish), which features an excellent performance by Ray Cruz, while the direction, editing, and post-production are by Adrián Berazaín.
This album will be officially released on March 3 at the patio of the National Museum of Fine Arts.
New melodies will then convey the positive energy we have been receiving for about ten years with the song Por encima de lo conocido, which identifies its author and José Martí, the most universal of all Cubans.
