Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba brings ¡Mil niños en escena…y más! to the stage…

With the performance ¡Mil niños en escena…y más!, the Vocational Workshops and the Children’s and Youth Ballet of Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba will conclude the 2025–2026 school year at the National Theater of Cuba this coming Saturday and Sunday.

On June 13 and 14, in the Avellaneda Hall, at 5:00 p.m. local time, more than 1,000 children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 16 will take part in this beautiful experience, led by master and choreographer Lizt Alfonso, Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), according to a press release.

These end-of-course galas showcase the results of months of learning in the vocational workshops, the training ground for the Children’s and Youth Ballets, as well as for the company’s Artistic-Teaching Unit.

In each of these performances, audiences will enjoy choreographies created by the dancers of Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba’s professional company, who also serve as teachers: Daira Jay, Ivette Coca, Thalía Pérez, Míguel Ángel Díaz, Keyla Cruz, Yaslubia Díaz, Melisa Agudo, Rocío Vázquez, Liz Francesca Rivera, Liana Velázquez, Estefani Muro, Camila Poey, and Juan Carlos Haza, among others, who transmit their art and passion to new generations through teaching.

These teachers carry out different responsibilities so that a production such as ¡Mil niños en escena…y más! can be presented in full, under the supervision of teacher Yadira Hernández.

The renowned company reminds its audience to bring fans and water bottles to help cope with the summer heat.
