Nelson Domínguez to donate oil painting to the National Museum of Dance

Renowned Cuban artist Nelson Domínguez, winner of the 2009 National Prize for Plastic Arts, will donate an oil painting depicting the figures of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso to the National Museum of Dance.

The oil painting, entitled Pas de deux-Homage, will be exhibited throughout Cuba as part of the Mi amiga Alicia exhibition, inaugurated for the first time in 2018 as part of the program of the 26th Alicia Alonso International Ballet Festival of Havana.

The valuable presentation will take place on Wednesday, February 15 at 3:00 pm in the area next to the sculpture of Alicia Alonso, created by the artist José Villa Soberón, located in the building of the Alicia Alonso Grand Theater of Havana.

In Mi amiga Alicia, the maestro of the visual arts is exhibiting an important group of works that reflect his admiration for the art of the great Cuban ballerina, with whom he maintained a close relationship of friendship and creativity for years.
