Second Workshop on Childhood and Adolescence: Social Heterogeneity Through the Lens

In the Havana headquarters of the Juan Marinello Cuban Institute of Cultural Research (ICIC Juan Marinello), the Second Workshop on Childhood and Adolescence: Social Heterogeneity Through the Lens, organized by the center itself in conjunction with FLACSO Cuba and UNICEF, will be held on April 2nd and 3rd.
The scientific program includes various themes on relevant research topics concerning Cuban childhood and adolescence. More than fifty speakers from all regions of the country have already confirmed their attendance, according to information from the Ministry of Culture.
Participating universities and research centers include the University of Havana, Central University of Las Villas, University of Granma, University of Pinar del Río, University of Cienfuegos, the Center for Psychological and Sociological Research, and the Loyola Center.
The event will be inaugurated with remarks from Mr. Luis Emilio Aybar, director of the Juan Marinello ICIC, and Dr. Marta Rosa Muñoz, director of FLACSO-Cuba. On the first day, the event will feature the presentation of the book «Horizons of Equity: Rights and Inequalities of Children and Adolescents in Cuba» by authors Ana Isabel Peñate, Annette Jiménez, Yeisa Sarduy, and Ileana Núñez.
The event will also feature a special presentation on the topic of «Trans Identities in Childhood: Challenges in Gender-Perspective Parenting Support,» led by Analia Lacquaniti from Tucumán, Argentina, in a virtual format.
Throughout the workshop, there will be several panels, including «Educational Perspective on Audiovisual Consumption in Early Childhood» and «Care and Protection of Children and Adolescents in the Face of Violence.»
