The 25th edition of the International Crafts Fair FIART 2023 is announced

The Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets is once again calling for the International Crafts Fair FIART 2023, now in its 25th edition. The event will take place from 8 to 23 December at the Pabexpo Exhibition Centre in the Cuban capital.

Under the slogan «Arte, utilidad y oficio», the event will be open to the public from 10:00 to 18:00 on 9 December, according to a press release from the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets.

The event will be dedicated to the Guayabera as a special project and to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela as Guest of Honour.

This edition will be a celebration of the role of crafts in the new scenarios of economic and social development, and at the same time a contribution of utilitarian values to the collective imagination.

As is the custom at the fair, a number of prizes will be awarded. The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented at the inauguration of the event, while participating craftspeople and artists will be eligible for the 25th edition of the FIART Awards in the categories of Product and Stand.

During these days, there will be an exhibition of prizes and decorations awarded by Unesco and the World Crafts Council to the work of Cuban artists and creators. There will also be the presence of the TELARTE project of artists in the plastic arts.

The organisers also point out that during this period there will be cultural activities aimed at promoting the productions, business sectors and creators whose work deserves to be highlighted at the event itself. These will include fashion shows, expo sales, business rounds, a theoretical session and other activities of an artistic, commercial and educational nature.
