The Cuban National Folklore Ensemble announces a new performance

The Cuban National Folklore Ensemble (CFNC, in Spanish) will present the concert programme La raíz y el tiempo at the Covarrubias Hall of the National Theatre of Cuba on the first two weekends of December.
This season is dedicated to celebrating the sixty years since the first performance of the Cuban National Folklore Ensemble, held on 25 July 1963.
Digna Rosa Pérez, Communication and Public Relations Specialist for the emblematic company, points out in a press release that this season is part of the celebrations of the sixty years of the Cuban National Folklore Ensemble, the oldest and most important musical and dance ensemble created to preserve, protect and disseminate expressions of popular and traditional Cuban culture.
The programme includes choreographic creations by Manolo Micler, winner of the 2017 National Dance Prize. He was the company’s director for more than two decades.
The young members of the CFNC, in their commitment to their predecessors, will defend the repertoire chosen for the occasion with the quality that is characteristic of them.
The programme includes the participation of students from the group’s community workshops who, with their teachers, have given important performances in the country’s capital.
Performances will take place on Fridays and Saturdays at 19:00 and on Sundays at 17:00.
