Pintar, Pintar, Pintar
As part of Senior Citizens’ Month, the Servando Cabrera Moreno Museum-Library will host the exhibition “Pintar, Pintar, Pintar” this Thursday, October 1, at 10:00 a.m. The exhibition is devoted to drawing and artistic creation as expressions of vitality, sensitivity, and new possibilities.
The exhibition will feature octogenarian self-taught artist Magaly Arencibia Rodríguez, who holds a degree in Educational Sciences and worked as a teacher for much of her life. After the pandemic, she found a new form of expression in painting and decided to immerse herself more deeply in the visual arts. Since then, she has developed a body of work that has enabled her to take part in various exhibitions while continuing to explore drawing as a space for personal creativity.
The exhibition brings together part of this artistic journey and also offers an opportunity to discover a creative side that began to emerge at a later stage in her life. Her experience demonstrates that art can open new paths at any point in life and that it is never too late to discover new ways of seeing and expressing the world.
Magaly Arencibia has participated in five exhibitions, one of them a solo show and the others group exhibitions. Among them was her solo exhibition held on October 20, 2023, at the Plaza House of Culture, as well as her participation in various group shows, including those held at the Los Sitios House of Culture on October 16 and November 20, 2025.
The exhibition will be curated and installed by César López Chávez and Alejandro Jurado, who are overseeing the presentation of this artistic project.
A special feature of the event will be the presence of the Havana Chamber Orchestra, conducted by maestro Daiana García, which will accompany the opening with a musical performance, creating a dialogue between the visual arts and musical expression.
“Pintar, Pintar, Pintar” will remain open throughout October, inviting the public to discover Magaly Arencibia’s work while also celebrating the talent, creativity, and capacity for reinvention that characterize older adults.
More than an exhibition, this project is presented as a meeting point between art, experience, and life—a celebration of the possibility of beginning, discovering, and creating, always.
