La Isla de la Música, a new space for the summer of 2023

La Isla de la Música, a new space for the summer of 2023

La Isla de la Música (The Island of Music), as Cuba is known, is a well-deserved epithet for having and displaying diverse rhythms and virtuoso musicians in each of the musical genres that have emerged in all times.

A synthesis of this richness of sound is what the project La Isla de la Música, located at the intersection of Calles 1ra and 38, in Miramar, municipality of Playa, is proposing from July of Havana’s summer.

Imagine a cultural center where you can enjoy, in just one day or one-night, different musical genres such as the son, trova, song, alternative music, pop, rumba, jazz, and popular dance music… like a musical tour, almost complete, through La Isla or, simply, choose your favorite place.

The opportunity is at the doors, with simultaneous presentations of important exponents of each of these genres and trends in different spaces of the cultural and leisure complex itself, accompanied by a varied food offer, also focused on the musical concept that defends each space.

In addition, there will be workshops, appreciation classes and audiovisual screenings related to Cuban musical genres and dance expressions, as well as children’s and community activities.

La Isla de la Música is a joint venture of the local development projects Mambo Producciones and Complejo Recreativo Marcelo Salado, the company Mambo SRL, the government of Havana, the Provincial Culture Authority of the Cuban capital, the municipal government, Culture and the representatives of the Cuban Communist Party in the municipality of Playa, and EGREM’s Musicuba agency.

In La Isla there will be musical options for all ages and preferences, so the invitation for the Havana family and as many who visit us in the summer stage is to breathe the sea air mixed with lots of youth, talent and joy, while being amazed by dozens of the most recognized and popular musicians of Cuba, the Island of Music.
