Buen Idioma Digital Magazine to Launch New Issue in Havana

The Almudena Grandes Library, part of the Spanish Educational Center in Havana, has announced the first public presentation of the digital magazine Buen Idioma, scheduled for Thursday, April 23, in observance of United Nations Spanish Language Day.

The event, to be held at the library’s headquarters in the Miramar neighborhood of Playa municipality, will headline the celebrations marking the sixth anniversary of the editorial project.

The new issue features contributions from prominent linguists, journalists, and other specialists committed to the proper use of the Spanish language.

Created by the Cuban Buen Idioma project, the magazine’s tenth edition is dedicated to the Cuban Academy of Language in its centennial year, as well as to the richness of Spanish in the Caribbean nation.

With 23 pages in tribute to April 23—the date that commemorates the language of Miguel de Cervantes, Rubén Darío, and José Martí—the issue also reflects the number of academies that make up the Association of Academies of the Spanish Language.

The issue will be available in digital format and may be downloaded free of charge, along with previous editions, from the project’s platform.

Buen Idioma is an educational initiative that includes a digital blog, a television program, a magazine, and social media accounts aimed at promoting the proper use of Spanish in the media.
