Martí’s work in the Cuban puppet theatre

As the 171st anniversary of José Martí’s birth approaches on 28 January, the Historian’s Office of the City of Havana is continuing its extensive programme of activities to mark the occasion.

This Friday, 26 January, is going to be an intense day in which the master will be linked to the stage, with a conference at the Teatro Museo de Títeres El Arca by Yudd Favier, MSc, who will talk about the presence of José Martí’s work in Cuban puppet theatre.

This will be followed by the inauguration of the Lealtades temporary space, which will house the Martí niño, Martí para los niños exhibition.

The event will end with the performance of El Ruiseñor by the Retablos troupe in the institution itself.
