Testimonials About Rosa Fornés in a Book by Ediciones EnVivo

The book Yo conocí a la Fornés, by journalist and announcer Rosalía Arnáez and communicator Ángel Manuel Pérez, was presented in the gallery of the Casa del Alba Cultural in Havana, as part of the program La Charanga de Oro y sus amigos, by Maestro José Loyola.

The book, published by EnVivo, a publishing house of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT in Spanish), presents testimonials about the great Cuban vedette Rosa Fornés from a perspective that transcends the world of show business and brings the reader closer to other facets of the world-renowned performer.

«We approach more than 60 people who knew her, such as hairdressers, makeup artists, costume designers, composers, people who helped her in her professional career, and there is also the testimony of those who supported her in the last stage of her life in the United States,» commented Ángel Manuel.

Presence of an iconography representative of the work of Fornés as part of the structure of the book.

The researcher thanked the people who participated in the production of the book, spoke about the origin and conception of the text, and highlighted its quality.

For her part, Rosalía Arnáez, also a professor, explained the values of the work and highlighted the presence of an iconography representative of Fornés’ work as part of the structure of the volume, which also includes a biography.

The experiences of the interviewees, he explained, formed the idea of compiling a series of accounts from people close to her in order to reveal aspects of her personality that have not been dealt with very often.

Both authors also thanked the publisher, EnVivo, for its support. Their representative, Dr. Norma Gálvez, reiterated her gratitude and mentioned the work done by the publishing house and the authors of the book.

The material presented on this occasion was exhibited at the 31st edition of the Havana International Book Fair, as part of the celebration of the centenary of the birth of the remembered Cuban artist.
