X Alfonso Announces New Album Aire
Multi-instrumentalist and composer X Alfonso has announced his new album, Aire, a deeply intimate record that connects past and present through emotion. The album will be released this Friday, May 22, on all digital platforms.
According to the press release, the album offers a transgenerational journey in which memory becomes sound and music becomes a living, breathing space. Rooted in the tradition of Cuban song and trova, the project looks to the present through a contemporary lens.
The musician and audiovisual creator revisits works that have shaped generations, reinterpreting them with a modern sensibility. On Aire, he brings together compositions by Silvio Rodríguez, Carlos Varela and Santiago Feliú, weaving them together with his own songs to create a dialogue across eras, styles and artistic visions.
The album includes tracks such as Sueño con serpientes, Unicornio, Como los peces, Cambia, Búscame (Sobrevolando un sueño) and Para ti, alongside X Alfonso’s own compositions, including Habana Blues, Arenas de soledad and Interrogante.
“Music for me is like the air I breathe,” X Alfonso says, and on this album each piece becomes a source of emotional oxygen.
The performances evoke an emotional landscape of memories, love, loss, questions and hope that has accompanied several generations.
The press release adds: “From the poetry of Silvio Rodríguez to the urban gaze of Carlos Varela, the intensity of Santiago Feliú and the contemporary vision of X Alfonso, Aire traces an invisible line where everything coexists.”
With this new record, the artist invites listeners into a renewed experience shaped by memory and emotion: “An album that is not only heard, but breathed.”
