Audiovisual on First Actress Verónica Lynn Premieres
An essential figure in Cuban art and culture, and a first actress of extraordinary performing talent, Verónica Lynn is the subject of the audiovisual production Muchos domingos para Verónica, which will premiere on May 8 at Havana’s Charles Chaplin cinema.
With an extensive career in film, radio, and television, Verónica Lynn will celebrate her 95th birthday on May 7. The documentary serves as a tribute to a life dedicated to the stage and to the artistic legacy she has built in her country.
From the 1950s to the present, the artist has graced stages, screens, and collective memory with her artistry and commitment, according to the National Council of Performing Arts (CNAE), which invites audiences to a screening that promises to honor “the greatness of Verónica Lynn.”
Colleagues, critics, and young performers come together in this 50-minute ensemble piece, whose purpose goes beyond biography to become a portrait of the National Prize for Theater and Television, an artist always willing to embrace new challenges.
Produced by the Artistic Representation Agency Caricatos and CNAE, the documentary is directed by Pedro Maytín, who co-wrote the script with playwright, poet, and essayist Norge Espinosa.
As the years pass, Verónica Lynn remains faithful to her lifelong passion. Her vitality and devotion to the stage transcend the limits of age, as she continues to give herself to the audience with absolute mastery.
