Group exhibition at the Belkis Ayón Gallery

Volver is the title of a group exhibition that will open on 18th November at 3pm at the Belkis Ayón Gallery of the José Antonio Díaz Peláez Experimental Centre for Visual Arts, located at 23 y C in Vedado.

According to curator Vilmeidy Bombalé, this exhibition presents an iconographic journey from the mid-1960s to the present, focusing on the experiences of shared protagonists in a visual experience representative of the visual production of Guantánamo.

«This is the meeting of generations of Guantánamo-resident artists who, through their poetry, recreate the intimacy, the sensuality, the female image and other characters who impress with their unique gestures, styles and forms, from the most traditional techniques to the most innovative concepts of contemporary art,» he explains.

The exhibition includes works by Agustín Villafaña, Lázaro Jarrozay, Ángel Laborde, Luis Alberto Ortiz, Juan Carlos Tavio, Rogelio Martínez and Raúl Speek.

The graphic arts are represented by Jorge Rigol, Alfredo Rosgartt, Isidro Botalín, Jorge Luis Vega Vients, Isolina Limonta, Pablo Borges, Miguel Ángel Lobaina, among others, as well as the comedian Luis Felipe Wilson and the winners of the National Prize, José Ángel Toirac and Ever Fonseca.
