Recital by the Belgian pianist Daniel Verstappen in the Sala Cervantes

In a one-off performance, the Belgian pianist Daniel Verstappen will give a recital in the Sala Cervantes, located in the Palacio de los Matrimonios in the Prado district of Havana, as part of the closing ceremony of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The recital, organised by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Havana and supported by the Flanders State of the Arts programme, will take place on Wednesday 12 June at 7 pm.

Verstappen, known for his dedication to promoting young musicians and working with beginners, will reaffirm his commitment to fostering young talent by involving students from the National School of Art: Gabriela Díaz (violin) and Mario Rivera (piano).

The performance will include pieces from Verstappen’s latest album, *Reconnection*, which he has performed in concert halls around the world, including the Sydney Opera House (Australia), Carnegie Hall (New York) and Harpa Concert Hall (Iceland).

Combining classical elegance with contemporary innovation, Daniel Verstappen has performed alongside international artists such as Andrea Bocelli and Ennio Morricone. Since he began playing the piano at the age of five, his goal has been to build bridges between generations and cultures, and to inspire young people by presenting classical piano in a modern and innovative way.
